Blog Tour: Inside Out by Lia Riley

Off the Map, #3
When Talia first moved from California to Australia to study abroad, she never dreamed she'd find the love of her life. Bran understands her like no one ever has before. And despite the numerous challenges they've faced, they've always managed to figure out how to stay together. But this time they'll face their toughest hurdle yet. Is their love strong enough to keep them together?

Inside Out is the emotional conclusion to Bran and Talia's epic love story, to this beautifully written and unforgettable series, yet it doesn't evoke dreaded finality, but new beginnings and a hopeful future still ahead. I've adored Lia Riley's writing, the quirky and enchanting vibe of her storytelling and the captivating voices she gave to her characters. From the first book, to the second book, up until the last page of this third and final novel, that fantastic voice never lost its luster. I'll always treasure the Off the Map series, and I absolutely look forward to reading more gems from this author!
One day, you're sleepwalking through life, and the next, you meet someone who wakes you up. A person who makes you want to try to dig in for your best self.
When I opened Inside Out and began reading, I was so ecstatic to live and breathe Bran and Talia one more time! They're a fun, cheeky, and eccentric pair, but their thoughts and struggles are just so real, so raw. We've seen everything in this series so far, from thrilling adventure to devastating heartache, and there's still a lot left for them to experience in this book! The things that Bran and Talia go through are unique, a little wild, and entirely captivating. From the exciting, entertaining moments, to the quietly powerful, Lia breathes such vivid life into these books. I see everything. I feel everything. Each word leaves behind a fingerprint, a lesson that touches the heart.
This journey will take all I've got, a small price to have everything. And that's exactly what this guy in my arms is.
I applaud the way Lia paved the road to self-discovery, of healing and starting anew, in this series. There's a lot of searching, struggling, and battling. Finally, in Inside Out, we see versions of Bran and Talia that are able to learn from their past and apply what they learned as they move forward. This is growing up! There's a lot of finally facing things from their past. It's those last pieces of grief that need to be unloaded, the last of the loose ends tied, in order for them to be free and for a brighter future to be possible. This book has so many moments when Bran and Talia are able to accept old hurts and break from long-time chains, and they just keep going. I had that mounting pressure in the back of my eyes, the sting of tears, the choking ache in my throat...such emotion in this book! There are some huge, meaningful scenes! The struggles are worth it in the end when you see how far they've come!
"What's the story you want to tell me about yourself?" he asks.

"That I'm brave. Confident. Strong. Up to facing challenges and pushing through. If I get knocked on my ass, I know when to keep going, or when to try another direction."
There's strength and bravery in the way Bran and Talia hold on, even when they feel weak, lost, useless...They're each others light when insecurity begins to suffocate. I loved how Bran always saw through Talia and pushed for her true potential in book one, Upside Down, and I loooove that it comes full circle in Inside Out, and he's once again a supportive nudge for her to realize what she's capable of.
I don't know what will happen or where things will end up with our future. He speaks like I'm capable of courage, and his kisses taste like home.
There's so much growth for both of them. Talia also wants Bran to see the amazing guy she fell in love with, that he is worthy of love and is wanted. They find a way to have faith in themselves and in each other. They rise to life's challenges. Initial fear and uncertainty will always be there, as Bran and Talia find out first-hand, but it's about how you still take that first step forward, regardless. Their story shows that you can face the world, with its many bumps and turns and forks in the road, and you can keep going, keep climbing. You might end up in uncharted territory, and the final destination might not be set in stone, but the journey is just as important.
She hugs me closer and and kisses my eyeslids, slow, one at a time. Each strikes me like the sweetest arrow. "Thank you," she whispers, resting a hand on my jaw. "Thank you for believing."

"Thank you for showing me how." This girl has ransomed my heart, and I never want it back.
I've been swept up in Talia and Bran's journey, as individuals and as a couple, from the very beginning. I loved watching their bond and trust in each other strengthen. Their connection--emotional and physical--is so palpable. We're three books in and it would be so easy to get comfortable with a couple, for them to lose a bit of their fire, but Inside Out is as passionate as ever. It's still electric and sexy!
Even though heights terrify me, I'm addicted to our edge-dancing. I'd rather be lost and with him, than ever play it safe.
I laughed. I squeed and swooned. I cried. I ached and raged. The Off the Map series had everything, it was refreshing, vibrant, and beautifully written, and these books were some of the best reads in 2014!!! Thank you, Lia Riley, for creating this wild, exuberant world, these striking characters, and such a heartfelt story!

| Author Interview - Lia Riley |

After studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, LIA RILEY scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. When not torturing heroes (because c'mon, who doesn't love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about as-of-yet unwritten books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. She and her family live mostly in Northern California.
