To Be Read: Recommendations Update!

April was a month of exploring...figuring out what really "clicks" for me...and I've been a very lucky girl so far! I fell hard for some New Adult gems, I was all about diving into the Romantic Suspense genre, and I even dipped my toes into Erotica. ;) So, it was only fitting to create a "Best of Book Love: April" section for my reading recommendations this week! Happy reading, everyone! :)

|| HOTHOUSE FLOWER | Purchase | My Review & Playlist | Series Update! ||
This is Book #2 in the Calloway Sisters spin-off series, and it's the 5th overall in the Addicted series. These books are so unique, and Ryke & Daisy are my favorite couple in the Addicted universe! They helped me realize how much I love adventure when reading New Adult! ;) I'm talking about scenes that I had to slow motion read, go back, and read 'em again. For emphasis. I loved, loved, loved Hothouse Flower, so make sure to also check out the series update for news on the NEXT books!

|| PRETTY LITTLE THINGS | Purchase | My Review & Playlist ||
On sale for $2.99! Pretty Little Things is a standalone novel by Teresa Mummert and was the first "darker" read that I featured on the blog! The main characters, Annabel and Colin, share a disturbing past...and are trying hard to hide from it. From the very beginning, you get the sense that something is off about them, but you'll only want to delve deeper, hypnotized. There's an intriguing twist to their relationship, as that teases the illusion of "taboo." It was gripping...mesmerizing...spine-tingling! A 5-star MUST read!

|| VEILED INNOCENCE | Purchase | My Review ||
This is one of the best student-teacher romances that I've ever read. Provocative, beautifully written, and suspenseful! Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the author had a couple more tricks up her sleeve...The rubik's cube painstakingly clicking into alignment...I loved every heart-stopping second!

|| DEAREST CLEMENTINE | Purchase | My Review ||
A New Adult *gem* that's still only $0.99!!! And the leading man, Gavin Murphy, is worth every penny! ;) Dearest Clementine had personality, humor, and heart, and I was thoroughly wooed. This book had a great cast of characters, and with just enough twists, the story was fresh and interesting!

|| LATE CALL | Purchase | My Review ||
Late Call is about two people, a call girl and a very unexpected client, getting the chance to rekindle an old flame. And it's burning hot from start to finish. But you know what they say about playing with fire, right? ;) It was a fun, wild read with an equally explosive ending, and I'll be anxiously counting down the days until the next book in this series!

|| MONSTER IN HIS EYES | Purchase | My Review | Author Interview ||
Monster in His Eyes was gritty, heartrending, dark, and twisted, yet it was beautiful, passionate, powerful, and all-consuming. When I turned the final page, my eyes were wide and my jaw practically unhinged...Heart pounding, mind racing, repeating "Wow" as if it were a prayer...15 minutes after I finished reading, that was me. Still. Hands down, it was my favorite Romantic Suspense read in April and a great way to close out the month!

|| UNFIXABLE | Purchase | +Goodreads ||
We all know how much I love to "travel-read", and this one takes us to Dublin, Ireland! After that got my attention, I also loved the feedback it was getting for being a lighthearted read with a sassy heroine. I'm a sucker for sarcastic banter when it's done well!
Willa Peet isn’t interested in love. She’s been there, done that, and has the shattered heart to prove it. Ready to shake the breakup, she heads to Dublin, Ireland. But there’s a problem. A dark-haired, blue-eyed problem with a bad attitude that rivals her own. And he’s not doling out friendly Irish welcomes.
|| LOVE, IN ENGLISH | Purchase | +Goodreads ||
Again, this is a "travel-read", as it takes place in Spain! The premise sounds intriguing, and I've heard that this is one hell of an emotional read! Just check out this part of the blurb:
He’s thirty-eight. I’m twenty-three. He speaks Spanish. I speak English. He lives in Spain. I live in Canada. He dresses in thousand-dollar suits. I’m covered in tattoos. He’s married and has a five-year old daughter. I’m single and can’t commit to anyone or anything.
Until now.Because when they say you can’t choose who you fall in love with, boy ain’t that the damn truth.
|| TO PROFESSOR, WITH LOVE | Purchase | +Goodreads ||
Okay, yeah...I may have a thing for student-teacher romances. ;) And this one has a bit of a twist! Usually, the girl is much younger, and the guy is the older teacher. In this story, he is the student, and she is his professor! (*Book #2 in the Forbidden Men series by Linda Kage, but it looks like it can be read as a standalone)
On this campus, I’m worshiped. While seven hundred miles away, back in my hometown, I’m still trailer park trash, child of the town tramp, and older sibling to three kids who are counting on me to keep my shit together so I can take them away from the same crappy life I grew up in.
These two opposing sides of myself never mix until one person gets a glimpse of the true me. I never expected to connect with anyone like this or want more beyond one night. This may be the real deal.
Problem is Dr. Kavanagh’s my literature professor.
|| POINT OF RETURN | Purchase | +Goodreads ||
The Sons of Anarchy fan in me is automatically drawn to biker stories, and this one definitely caught my attention! I like it when the heroine is the one with the connection to the club!

Olivia Masters grew up familiar with all of them. The daughter of the President of the Nordic Lords Motorcycle Club, Olivia always knew she wanted nothing to do with any of it. Her plans were made to leave the town she grew up in as soon as she and her boyfriend, Daemon Knight, turned eighteen.
But then Olivia was shot. Her mother killed in front of her. Fleeing became her reality.
Forced to return to her hometown of Jasper Bay five years later, events beyond Olivia’s control put her directly back into the life she swore she’d never return to.
|| FRAGILE BONDS | Purchase | +Goodreads ||
I definitely got a good jolt after reading about Fragile Bonds! I read a review on Aesta's Book Blog, and the storyline seemed like it would be a pretty good heartbreaker! From Aesta's review:
The only man that Melanie had ever loved was the same man who broke her heart and the same man she walked away. Not only had she and Xavier been in love, but their relationship was more than just romantic because he was also her Dom. But a rash decision and a series of unfortunate circumstances broke them apart… Now, six years later, he’s married with a four-year-old little boy and his wife, Alyssa, is dying with only a short time left to live so they bring in a nurse to care for her… and it’s Melanie!!
