Blog Tour: Late Call by Emma Hart

It's here. It's finally here! The teasers have been...exactly that...such an excruciating tease. Now, Late Call is LIVE and waiting for you to devour it! For my stop on the blog tour, I have a review all ready to little warning of what you're about to get into ;)...and Author Emma Hart has also provided her playlist and a giveaway!

She’s a high class call girl. He’s taking over his father’s business.
Seven years ago, they fell in love in Paris.
They walked away at the end of the summer, never imagining they’d meet again.
Now he’s her client.

We fell in love the way you jump from a cliff. Hard and fast with a reckless sense of abandon. The six weeks we spent together changed my life, but at seventeen, I was naive. I was a dreamer. A believer.

Now I’m twenty-four and cynical. I don’t believe in love. There’s no place for such emotions as a high class escort. The only things I’m allowed to feel are physical – and that’s why it’s so damn hard when the client of a last minute job turns out to be the man I left in France seven years ago. When he buys me for six weeks at triple my rate, my agent makes it clear I have no choice but to take the job despite our previous relationship. And my heart makes it very clear I have to stay firmly on top of the cliff this time.

Because for six weeks, I once again belong to Aaron Stone.

Late Call is sassy, sexy, and so romantic. It's about two people, a call girl and a very unexpected client, getting the chance to rekindle an old flame. And it's burning hot from start to finish. But you know what they say about playing with fire, right? ;)

First, I fell for Dayton Black. It's always the guy that I go weak in the knees for first, so it was a refreshing change to get hooked in by the girl! Drawn in by her smart-mouth and cut-the-bullshit commentary, it was love at first read. I could just picture the way Dayton would carry herself. Completely confident, well put together, and all independent woman.
Men watching me, wanting me, wishing they were the guy whose arm I'm clinging to. That's my life. That's where I excel. Making them watch me. Making them want me.

And their wives? Their girlfriends? I excel at making them wish they were me.
Enter Aaron Stone. Here comes Dayton's first-and-only love to completely change the game. It's been seven years since they last saw each other, after a devastating goodbye, and her life is vastly different, her attitude a lot more brash and brazen. But, Aaron isn't exactly a youngster anymore, either. He's all grown up and about to take his place as CEO of the family business. The deal? Dayton will accompany him across the globe, posing as his girlfriend. Since he's paying triple her usual rate, it's an offer she can't refuse. But is it the money or something else? *wide grin*
Love hurts, but pleasure doesn't and neither does power. I had to choose, and I chose pleasure and power.
This is where the fun begins! Las Vegas. Australia. Italy. Those are just a few of the stops on this couple's international romp. The whole time...with all of their banter and bickering...I was swept up in those moments! Between her seductive poise, his commanding presence, and aaall of that building tension, how could I not be infatuated?? Not to mention, we're jetting around the world, going on shopping sprees, playing dress up...girls dream of this kind of luxury!

I enjoyed the pace of the story. There was enough time for these two characters to reacquaint allow me, the reader, to become acquainted with them and their when those long-buried feelings resurfaced, it felt fluid and natural. I laughed and swooned as they toed the line between pretending and showing real feelings.
I don't want words. I want skin on skin contact. Mouths against mouths. Tongues tracing necks and trailing across stomachs. Hands grasping and toes curling and lips parting and breath catching.

I want every single fucking thing I know I'll regret tomorrow.
Then, things indeed started to get very, very real. Because of course they would. *squeaks in excitement* Dayton has been alone for so long, and she remembers what it was like to get her heart ripped out, so she keeps fighting and pushing away. Aaron, however, is always right there fighting and pulling her back. Sometimes, it led to angry shouting...but what's that saying about makeup sex? ;)...Other times, it led to more sincere, vulnerable moments for Dayton. Dayton peeking out behind Mia, her impenetrable call girl facade.

Aaron's desire to keep Dayton in his life, and to prove that she's worth keeping, was palpable. His devotion to her became undeniable. Even the skepticism that I started out with, because of being in Dayton's head, faded away. I wanted to jump in and shout, "IF SHE WON'T DO IT, I'LL HAVE YOU, AARON." Ah, if only.
"You can't fight everything," he whispers. "Stop trying."
"I'm not fighting everything. Just you."
"I am everything, Dayton. Open your eyes and you'll see it."
Mostly, I understood Dayton's resistance, but then Mr. Stone over here would do something to make my head spin. For instance, I want to take a second to praise Aaron Stone's ability to speak multiple languages. Those scenes...I, for real, gawked at my Kindle screen. I actually gawked.

I hit the last 20% of the book, and it was like all of the fireworks going off during the show's big finale. Bright blazes, one after the other. And, of course, it took place in the city that started it all: Paris. Aaron Stone, you sir, are just not fair. There were small, personal gestures mixed in with his grand ones. I was sinking into my seat, melting, melting, and melting away...

Then, suddenly, I was choking. Sinking, but in a completely different way. To use Dayton's own words, "Gut wrenching isn't even strong enough to describe it. More like stomach twisting...heart clawing." You know that scene in Star Wars with Luke Skywalker? The no-it's-not-true-that's-impossible-nooo scene?? That was me. While clutching my Kindle. *puffs out a heavy breath*
He reminded me how to love and be loved.
He also reminded me why I shouldn't believe in love.
Yes, this book ended with a cliffhanger. Yes, it left me in a free-fall. I needed more. But every minute of the crazy ride with Dayton Black and Aaron Stone was worth it! Late Call was a fun, wild read with an equally explosive ending, and I'll be anxiously counting down the days until the next book in this series!
